Join the Department 22 business unit in McKinney, Texas to develop and deploy a state of the art, multi-role electronic/infrared sensor. This is a multi-year effort and D22 is a growing organization with a multitude of opportunities for motivated, team-oriented individuals.

Job Description:

Participate in Agile software development effort to design, develop, test, and verify program software, to include potential flight test and customer platform installation. Provide MTS insight / experience and work with modern tools in a small, focused team on some exciting new technology areas. The program uses a state-of-the-art single board computer with a RHEL OS and a real-time Redhawk kernel. Development uses AdaCore and GnatStudio, as well as VxWorks 5.5, GHS, etc. Agile development practices utilize modern Atlassian tool stack (Jira, Bitbucket, and Confluence), with plans to include Jenkins automation servers for VxWorks EU and AdaCore TU builds. Looking for experienced software engineer familiar with real-time applications and ideally with experience in vxWorks, Red Hat / Red Hawk, and Ada / C. Applicant needs to have worked the Multi-Spectral Targeting System (MTS) product line.

Responsibilities include:

•Participating in the full software lifecycle development (requirements analysis, design, implementation and unit testing, software integration and test, system level integration).

•Understanding assigned requirements to ensure system will meet intent as well as literal interpretations.

•Integrating system parameters and software solutions into the real-time system and ensure the functionality of the requirement.

•Participating in code and other software artifacts reviews.

•Interacting with engineers from other disciplines, such as Systems and Electrical Engineering, to obtain pertinent information required to accomplish tasks.

•Mentoring other engineers with less MTS experience (if applicable).

Required Skills:

•Minimum 5 years of experience supporting and developing real-time embedded software, with at least 1 year working the MTS product line.

•Experience with C/C++ and/or Ada programming

•Ability to develop real-time embedded SW, preferably in an Agile environment.

•Experience using a Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), e.g., VxWorks, Linux, Green Hills (GH) Integrity, Red Hawk.

•Able to manage own time, organize work, and think critically

•Able to manage multiple unrelated tasks in an organized manner.

•Ability to work occasional overtime to support critical program events.

•Must be able to communicate effectively in both written and oral form, team well with others which includes demonstrated effective communication with internal and external customers.

•Willing to travel < 10% of the time to support flight tests and off-site integration activities.

• U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require a U.S. Security Clearance and the ability to access US only data systems.

Desired Skills:

•Expertise in line of sight control, video processing, or camera control are highly desired.

•Experience with AdaCore and/or GnatStudio.

•Familiarity with Agile lifecycle process including Scrum, Continuous Integration, and Test Driven Development Methodologies

•Current working experience with Object Oriented (OO) design and Unified Modeling Language (UML).

•Working experience with Intel or similar processor, hardware interfaces, and space/airborne sensor systems.

•Working experience with hardware interfaces and communications within a multi-processor system.

Education:

•Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
