Job Summary

The Senior Retirement Product Manager has responsibility for the product development and management of the Retirement product line, providing leadership and subject matter expertise across the line of business. This responsibility includes supporting the revenue growth goals by providing best-in-class products and service while minimizing the time to market. The goal of this position is to provide valuable product solutions for customers and the organization by gaining a strong understanding of needs and opportunities, performing thorough and efficient analysis of alternatives, and summarizing and effectively communicating alternatives and recommendations to stakeholders.
 

What You'll Do

  • Lead key departmental and strategic initiatives across the Retirement Line of Business. This includes developing project plans, managing projects end-to-end, conducting research and analysis, performing data analytics, defining business requirements, creating and executing test plans, coordinating and performing testing, supporting go‑to‑market readiness, and communicating updates to leadership and cross‑functional partners.

  • Collaborate with teams across the Retirement organization—including sales, relationship management, business strategy, compliance, operations, and support areas—to inform and shape product strategies for existing products and services.

  • Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for existing Retirement products, services, and applications through strategic analysis, evaluation of new business ideas, competitive and industry research, feasibility assessments, and support for ongoing reporting and analytic needs.

  • Drive research and development efforts, and lead or support launches of new product or partnership opportunities. This includes conducting market assessments, defining product concepts and KPIs, performing primary and secondary research, executing financial analyses, generating actionable insights, and partnering with Platform Management and business stakeholders to develop and deploy solutions.

  • Support product health and performance by tracking key KPIs, contributing to product P&L visibility, and ensuring leadership has timely and accurate insights.

  • Engage with key stakeholders to monitor customer satisfaction, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Coordinate product or service issue resolution across all relevant functions to ensure prompt and effective outcomes.

  • Support marketing and sales by defining product positioning, key benefits, and target customer profiles, contributing to broader go‑to‑market strategies.

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support product strategy, execution, and organizational goals.

 

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5-8 years equivalent work experience.

  • Graduate degree (MBA) preferred.

  • Experience in industry research is preferred.

  • Extensive knowledge of retirement plan products, services, and markets, especially GuideStone’s Retirement products and services.

  • Strong internal and external research and networking skills.

  • Proven product planning and management skills.

  • Strong financial, analytical and leadership skills.

  • Knowledge of investments, particularly GuideStone’s mutual funds.

  • Strong interpersonal skills; team-oriented mindset.

  • Strong negotiation and mediation skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication, facilitation and presentation skills.

  • Resourcefulness in acquiring industry and competitor information.

  • Ability to “anticipate” the needs of the groups being supported (project teams, councils, and executive staff).

  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities so that all areas of responsibility receive appropriate and timely attention.

  • Understanding of GuideStone strategic planning process and strategic objectives.

  • Ability to use industry knowledge and analysis to provide practical solutions that address concrete needs and are sustainable.

  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

  • Experience working with vendors.

  • Highly proficient PC skills in MS Office and appropriate GuideStone system applications.

  • Must have complete confidentiality regarding GuideStone business matters.
