Thanks
This is a tall order for your prayer time. Be earnest, unwearied, steadfast, alert, and intent. But notice the last phrase — “with thanksgiving.” That tells you that thanksgiving is an essential ingredient influencing the effectiveness of your prayers. Most of us know how to be earnest and steadfast when we are really after one of God’s promises, but do you mix those ingredients with thanksgiving? For the duration of your job search why not try a little experiment? Every time you pray, do so upon the foundation of praise and thanks for all you have already received. Let your requests to God ride in on a cloud of thanksgiving and watch your results. Remember — the fervent effectual prayers of the righteous (that’s you!) avail much!
